It was crazy hot in our Jucy last night. We were drying off our wet suits and diving gear inside. Couple that humidity with natural Cairns heat and humidity and wow it was hot. Fortunately it rained a little, (kinda rare lately) which seemed to help. We headed out in the early morning seeking coffee. It's kinda nice driving your bedroom/kitchen. The Jucy is kinda top heavy and tippy. It has 300,000 KM's on it as well so the suspension is kinda soft. It's fun but kinda scary over 100 KM/h especially in the many twisty mountainous passes, eek. (I later figured out not to put heavy stuff up top duh) We made it to a nice Zoo where Michelle was able to finally see a Koala.
https://www.wildlifehabitat.com.au/ There were plenty of other wonderful creatures there. It was a nice Mom and Pop Zoo with well cared for animals and intentions of preservation, thank goodness. After a short drive we stocked up at Woolworths (yep, a grocery store) and drove a few more scary KM's to our evening hideaway. We scored again, another Mom and Pop shop campground.
http://www.lynchaven.com.au/ Not busy and owned by really nice caring people. I'm typing this from a comfy dry spot listening to serious lightning/thunder not far away. I hope it rains a shit tonne because they need it and it would be fun.
