The Quinn Family Excellent Adventure: Seeing Pokhara like a bird with Advance Paragliding

Today was our fun flight with Advance Paragliding https://www.facebook.com/advanceparagliding/ They were great. We proactively popped by yesterday to learn what we needed to bring and do. They suggested no Nap Sacs nor hats as we were required to wear a helmet. They picked us up from our hotel 9:00 AM ish and we popped into their nearby office. After a little paperwork, we were enroute to the top of a local starting point. Our taxi had the sails and equipment on top and the pilots within. It was a fun 25 minute drive. The roads were once again crazy switch backs but at least they were paved. The hill we parked on is crazy busy with other Paragliding companies. I learned later there are 61 companies here now. Wow. KT and Michelle were let towards a different section of the departure point following a pilot. I was led further up hill. I had a few minutes to watch many of the other pilots prepare and sail off. I was eventually let to putting on an interesting suit and given simple instructions. The most important thing is walking when told and running when told for take off. We had a false start and after the sail was prepped waited for a little while for another gust. Our takeoff was perfect. I had lost track of KT and Michelle but think I have them in the videos. The thermals were limited so our flight time was short. My pilot was able to fly for almost 4 hours solo from this same spot so it's possible for all kinds of fun up there. I had asked earlier how to land but was told to not worry about it. When we landed, you will see someone was on the pad. We came in hot and without proper previous instruction we kinda bombed the landing. Oh well, nobody was hurt. After a short break we were in the taxi sharing stories while they transferred flight video and pictures to our phones. It was a really fun way to see the countryside.
