Goodbye Fussen Germany - Hello Prague - June 1–6

Our Fussen host was so kind to give us a ride to the train station.  Taxi's were not all that popular and the bus was non existent so early in the morning .  Our host was actually unsure if we were taking a bus or train.  She was quite surprised to see the train waiting at the station.  I suppose she does not get to the station at 5:30 AM all that often.  Our reserved seats put us into a part of the train where 4 seats are independent with a door and private air controls.  We soon met a really nice person who talked us through many stops.  It was not long before we saw dozens of rowdy party animals walking back and forth.  It turns out this train and route is typically full of young people heading to Prague for pre wedding parties.  Many of these people had no reserved seats so as the train traveled they walked back and forth carrying boxes of beer and being quite happy.  A few times a best man and his soon to be married fried busted into out cabin to share some slurred words and sell me some shots to raise money.  It was kinda fun.  Several of them were literally falling down drunk.  A train operator soon burst into every cabin and locked the windows.  The drunks were chucking bottles out the windows.  Duh.

Once in Prague it was a short Uber ride to the very old part of Prague where out Airbnb was.  There was a little confusion with communication tgat resulted in us having to wait about 45 minutes to get into our room  I think the "owner" has too many properties and has delegated communication to others who are not all that quick on their feet.  Luckily I was able to use AirBnb's search to figure out the owners phone number.  Literally after 30 rings he answered.  I actually later called him on this with his review.  Our room itself was in an awesome location but kinda tight.  Imagine an older building with it's interior rooms split up to fit tiny little apartments.  We did have our own private bathroom and a nice stand up shower.  The kitchen was this sort of office furniture style thing with a tiny fridge and no cooking surface.  Getting into and out of the room was interesting.  The main outside door needed a key.  A second key was required for the main office space.  Another key to get past another door was sometimes needed and our room key was the last.  Getting out was really weird sometimes as the office entrance was sometimes locked with another security gate.  In a fire, people would probably die trying to get out.  Luckily it was not locked all that often.  It was good enough for us.  Luckily we were on the less sunny side of the building.  The heat never got too much for us in the room as we were soon to learn how hot it can get there.

Being in the old part of Prague is so amazing.  Astonishingly beautiful streets and architecture is everywhere.  You don't need to spend a penny on tours.  Just walk in any direction.  Shops everywhere are stocked with alcohol and cannabis related products.  It's party town.  It was soooo hot.  Kinda too hot for me.  As usual we walked everywhere and enjoyed the sites.

Prague was also the place we planned to see Tool.  We proactively learned to use their Subway system and headed off to the O2 center with plenty of time to spare.  We had time to walk to a nice Vegan place and still had tome to relax in the shade before heading into the show.  The venue is really nice and the place was quite full.  I noticed the floors were filling up quite quickly and thought for sure it was going to be a gong show with a crazy mosh pit.  I was quite surprised that the European crowds are really well behaved.  Despite access to plenty of reasonably priced beer, the crowd just simply stood and applauded.  So different that crowds in North America.  Tool was awesome and so tight.  Normally I wait after the show for the crowds to calm down.  This time we simply walked out with the bulk of them and directly only the subway.  It was crowded but not insane.  We made great time and soon were home.  With only a few days remaining in Prague, we walked some more discovering a nice park and tower providing some really nice views and pics.  Prague is awesome.
