Ubud is amazing

The staff at Grand Palace arranged our shuttle to our accommodations in Ubud.  We let them know we hop to be able to return with KT later on.  The drive was fun, both teaching English and learning some Indonesian at the same time.  The 2 lane road is busy with motorcycles, cars and the occasional pedal bike.  I'm glad to not be driving here (yet).  Lanes are optional here.  It's impressive to watch the constant close calls.  Our driver was not familiar with our destination so it took a few minutes to find.  Google maps indicated it was off the main road.  We almost went down an unmarked one way and had to go around.  We picked an interesting time to arrive.  Around 1 PM the school children leave school.  The roads are lined with caregivers getting these kids.  It's a zoo.  Our driver had to wiggle a tiny car through small streets to get us close enough to walk to our accommodation.  This at a time where the one lane road has oncoming bike traffic.  Poor dude.  He was awesome and we tipped him well.  We walked into Suarsena House Bungalows and were welcomed by very friendly staff. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g297701-d4991103-Reviews-Suarsena_House_Bungalows-Ubud_Gianyar_Bali.html  The accommodations are pretty simple, inexpensive and very well located.  The room air was a little stale.  I managed to fix the bathroom fan and that made a huge difference.  We are luck to have AC and it's great.  All I need is a little WiFi, pool, AC and a bathroom.  Free breakfast was a bonus.  We immediately walked the neighborhood and OMG this is the place to be in Bali.  In every direction, food, drinks, shops, massage, spa ...  So much focus on health, local, organic ... wow.  It would take years to eat at each location, seriously.  Michelle had wanted to check out the Paradiso, the worlds first Organic Vegan Cinema :-) https://www.paradisoubud.com/  Movies, Live shows, clothing, health food and a very impressive Vegan restaurant that rivals stores we frequent in TO.  More later

Home sweet home for now
